even though Stealers don’t even score a TD. Damn, this season is tough. Oh, it snowed too.
There are so many reasons to follow Ana Marie Cox, including perceptive political reporting, sassy attitude, and more. But really, her recent twit put me in the tank (@ GOP Gov spa retreat):
In main hall Palin gives her stump speech! WTF? Trig, energy, McCain TEH AWESOME, JOE THE FUCKING PLUMBER. Wonder if she’ll work in Ayers
She might just be invited to my “who would you have for dinner?” table, though I can’t bump Jesus. The wine.

Chances are likely that GM, Ford, et. al., will receive some stimulus, er, bailout. Fine. I would imagine this is an ideal opportunity to transition different parts of an industry (transportation) to a more unified and organized fashion. Amtrak, Detroit, public transportation…throw in Oil (which should be re-classified as Energy), and we could really have something.
The bailout is a tactic, but to do this right, we must first have a strategy, with clearly defined goals.
- Wean ourselves from oil/drastically decrease dependence on petroleum.
- Rebuild infrastructure of transportation sector
- Rebuild and retool aging car industry–>reborn asa transportation leaders
- Lead world in helping solve climate crisis
These are but a few goals that can help us develop a comprehensive STRATEGY in order to implement the tactical policies, like bailout money. Until we know that, DON’T GIVE THEM A DIME. To give them anything now would merely be a “life support” decision-just putting off the inevitable.

I spent some time at the beach yesterday (Sunday) with my 4-year old daughter. Windy, cool (for Florida), many surfers at Juno pier. Anyway, a very nice young lady came up carrying a stack of papers, obviously about to sell me something. I notice her Obama/Biden pin, and beat her to the punch “I voted for our man last week.”
She thanked me and we chatted a bit…she was walking up and down the beach to let people know where they could early vote. She spoke to EVERYONE (she even got me again after we moved from pier to sand!). And everyone seemed to be pleasant to her. Wow. BO’s ground game is everywhere.
I think that most everyone is underestimating the GOTV effort, especially the new vote, in Florida. This could be a 4+ percentage win for the Blue team.
